Stefanie Sourial, geboren 1981, arbeitet als schaffende Performance-Künstlerin in Wien und lehrt an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien im Fachbereich für Performative Kunst.
2007 absolvierte sie die Internationale Schule für Theater, Regie und Bühnenbild Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Vor und während ihrer Ausbildung arbeitete sie als Straßenkehrerin, Produktionsassistentin, oder Performance-Coach bei diversen internationalen Performance Festivals.
2001/2002 leitete Stefanie Theaterworkshops mit obdachlosen Jugendlichen in Kairo, Ägypten.
Als Performance-Künstlerin kreiert Sourial ihre eigenen Soloprojekte, u.a. “FREAK” (2014/15), im Rahmen des Freischwimmer Festivals 2014 aufgeführt in Österreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz, oder ihr Musikalbum “Amsterdam” welches ihr den “Blue Bird” Singer Songwriter Award 2014 brachte.
Von 2009-2015 war Stefanie Sourial Performerin in Katrina Daschner’s queer feministischen Kunst-Performanceprojekt CLUB BURLESQUE BRUTAL.
Seit 2012 arbeitet sie mit der mehrfach preisgekrönten Kompanie “Theater Ad Infinitum” in Großbritannien.
Seit 2017 ist Stefanie Sourial Teil des Stand up Ensembles PCCC* – political correct Comedy Club, gegründet von Denice Bourbon bei dem sie regelmäßig antirassistische und queere Stand up comedy Skits aufführt.
Regelmäßig arbeitet Stefanie Sourial mit dem Koproduktionshaus brut Wien. Hier entstanden die Produktionen “COLONIAL COCKTAIL” (2019), “CITY OF DIASPORA (2021), “NEW ENDINGS” (2023), and “FLASHMOB” (2026). Ihre Performances sind antirassistisch, queer und gesellschaftskritisch und verbinden zwei Erzählweisen miteinander: die Historische und die Persönliche – stets fokussiert auf das Politische.

Stefanie Sourial, born 1981, works as a performance artist in Vienna and teaches at the academy of fines arts Vienna at the department for performative art.
2007 she graduated from Jacques Lecoq – International Theatre School in Paris. Before and during her education she worked as street sweeper, production assistant and performance coach at performance festivals all over the world.
As a performance artist Sourial creates her own solo projects (for example”FREAK” in 2015) touring Austria, Germany and Switzerland, as part of “Freischwimmer Festival 2014, and released her music album “Amsterdam” and won the “Blue Bird” Singer Songwriter Award 2014.
From 2009-2015 Sourial participated as performance artist in Katrina Daschner’s queer-feminist performance project “CLUB BURLESQUE BRUTAL”.
Since 2012 she has been working with the multi-award-winning company “Theater Ad Infinitum” as a co-creator and performer in the UK.
Since 2017 Stefanie is part of “PCCC*” {pis:sy:sis:sy}-Vienna’s first Queer Comedy Club where she regularly performs antiracist and queer stand-up comedy skids.
Regularly, Stefanie Sourial collaborates with the co-production house brut Wien. This is where the productions “COLONIAL COCKTAIL” (2019), “CITY OF DIASPORA (2021), “NEW ENDINGS” (2023), and “FLASHMOB” (2026) were created. Her performances follow socio-critical, political and historical content, which she negotiates on a personal level.
